RAF Wittering AC was first concived in 2005 but due to constraints and set backs has taken time to flourish into its current form.
With the kind permission of Royal Air Force Witterings station comander we now have a flourishing membership.
We understand that we are the first full British armed forces club within the National Field Archery Society.
The club and it's members come from both RAF Wittering and RAF Cottesmore, are afflliated to the National Field Archery Society (NFAS) and compete throughout the country at club and national Field archery events.
The aim of the club is to promote the sport of archery in all it’s forms except those which are illegal in the UK.
We are a friendly club primarily involved in Field archery with archers of all ages and abilities.
Equipment in use ranges from traditional Longbows to the more modern Recurve and Compound bows.
We welcome all archers both Service, dependants, MOD employees and civillians, be they beginners or long established and encourage them to enjoy their shooting whether their interest is in socialising, fun or competition.
The club has beginners recurve and compound equipment to get you started and a coach with over 30 years experience in the sport. He has qualified as a coach for both the Grand National Archery Society, The National Field Archery Society and is CRB registered.
